This week the Brothers of Mercy Wellness Campus is honored to celebrate Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King!
Rev. Dr. King dedicated his life to the service of others.
He believed in fighting tirelessly on behalf of what was right, and on behalf of those who could not fight for themselves.
He was an incredible example of what it means to embody the values of equality, brotherhood, compassion, faith, love, and hope.
This week we remember him through simple tributes – honoring his legacy on Martin Luther King Jr., filling the halls of our campus with dedication posters, playing video clips of memorable MLK moments and speeches, discussing with staff and residents what his words “I Have A Dream” mean to them, and even serving some of his favorite dishes on our menu. Our Life Enrichment team created a beautiful tribute wall of quotes to serve as an inspiration and daily reminder of how we can all uphold his legacy and make a difference in our own unique ways.
Some of our favorite MLK quotes:
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”
“Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.”
“We must learn to live together as brothers – or perish together as fools”
“The time is always right to do what is right”
“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear”
