Brothers of Mercy Wellness Campus Celebrates National Assisted Living Week!

Happy National Assisted Living Week!

#NALW: September  8-14

Here at Brothers of Mercy Wellness Campus, we are privileged to serve over 60 amazing residents in our assistive living community, Sacred Heart Home.

We spoke with residents and team members about some of their favorite aspects of living and working here at Brothers of Mercy. Here are some of their thoughts:

“The SHH staff members are so caring and attentive. Thank you for all that you do!”

“I love being able to attend mass regularly at the Sacred Heart Chapel”

“I enjoy working with our residents and being able to make someone’s day brighter”

“It was the best decision for me to come here – the warmth and friendliness is excellent! Thank you ”

“Everyone who works here are very patient and kind. And our nurses are so great!

“I love making our residents smile, laugh and enjoy their day!”

By carrying on the compassionate legacy of our founders almost an entire century later, our dedicated team members and Brothers are truly what make up the “heart behind the care” here at Brothers of Mercy!

One can often find residents and staff alike affectionately referring to the “BOM Family” or “family-like feel” that embodies our Wellness Campus. This environment of warmth and compassion has instilled a sense of belonging in all members of the “BOM Family”; all thanks to our countless, warm-hearted Brothers who have selflessly served this organization’s residents and their families throughout the years.

Says Sacred Heart Home Administrator Mindee McDonald,

“I have been building my career at Sacred Heart Home on the Brothers of Mercy Campus for the past 20+ years, when I started working at age 16, alongside some of the Brothers themselves. I’ve enjoyed witnessing firsthand their tireless dedication to caring for our residents. This inspires me to strive to do something better for our campus each day, and to carry on our founders’ mission.”

As the demand for assisted living continues to grow, Sacred Heart will be widening its scope in order to afford our amazing residents with even more specialized services, including assisted living, enhanced assisted living and memory care. In Summer 2020, Sacred Heart Home will be expanding into a brand new, 90,000-square foot community just footsteps away from its current location! Construction of this new “Wellness Community”, the only one of its kind in WNY, is underway. Upon completion, Brothers of Mercy’s current residents, along with approximately 30 new residents, will enjoy spacious new private bedrooms, shared open-concept living, dining and courtyard spaces, along with a new chapel, library/study, salons and more! This addition to the Brothers of Mercy Wellness Campus will complete our continuum of care, allowing us to offer every level of care to the WNY senior population.

We have many events planned for this exciting week celebrating phenomenal people! Stay tuned for more updates, and be sure to
