Western New York’s largest retirement community is about to get a whole lot bigger!
Development of our new 97,000 sq. ft. Memory Care and Enhanced Assisted Living Community is well underway, with doors expected to open this summer.
The $21MM, 14-acre campus expansion includes the development of three buildings connected under one roof: an assisted living branch, a Commons Center, and a specialized memory care wing.
“This project not only expands our physical campus and our ability to serve the people of our region, it also builds on the legacy of care established by the Brothers of Mercy in WNY 95 years ago. We are bringing to life a vision for specialized memory care and enhanced care that will truly revolutionize our Wellness Campus and propel our organization into a bright future.”
– Peter Eimer, Brothers of Mercy CEO
The AL side includes 64 apartments, and the Memory Care side will offer 32 specialized units designed for seniors experiencing any stage of memory loss impairment, including dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Enhanced Care services will also be offered, enabling Assisted Living and Memory Care residents to receive more specialized services as their needs change, while aging in place in their existing suites.
This new, state-of-the-art community will employ the “Wellness Neighborhood model”, a forward-thinking approach to senior living which includes person-directed care practices, along with 6 individual “Wellness Neighborhoods” all connected under one roof. These neighborhoods will be home to 16 residents each, and are designed to look and feel like a real home environment.
The project was designed by Wendel with construction being handled by The Pike Company.
