Western New York’s largest 5-star Wellness Campus has added a new member to their leadership team. Vince Dunston has been appointed Manager of Leasing & Development for the Brothers of Mercy Wellness Campus, which serves over 500 residents, 1000 rehabbers, and employs 600.
In his new role Mr. Dunston will oversee the conversion of an existing 59,000-sq.-ft. facility on the 126-acre BOM Wellness Campus into a multi-use “Wellness Center” space. Located at 4520 Ransom Rd., all facets of this Wellness Center will be outfitted within the building formerly known as Sacred Heart Home, and be designed for residents, staff and members of the Western New York community to thrive in all areas of life. Sacred Heart Home, founded in the early 1950s, operated as an adult care home through December 2020 until its expanded licensure facilitated the migration of its 58 residents to a larger footprint on campus offering assisted living, memory care and enhanced services.
Dunston will play an integral role in the development and launch of BOM’s innovative new Wellness Center, the proposed features of which could grow to include a primary care clinic and pharmacy, in addition to housing, child care and educational career training center offerings. The space also has the potential to serve as a collaboration site between BOM and local universities looking to conduct on-site clinical research and studies. Fiscal operations, as well as nurse aid training and orientation programs are still being run out of this building, with renovations projected to begin in the early spring of 2021.
Mr. Dunston looks forward to drawing upon his extensive ownership experience in the childcare and commercial cleaning industries as he develops in this new role. He has also held multiple positions within the Brothers of Mercy organization over the past ten years, most recently assisting with operations of BOM’s Central Services team. Mr. Dunston obtained his bachelor’s degree in business management from D’Youville College and has over twenty five years of experience working in the project management and operations field. Dunston claims that he is humbled to be a part of such a wonderful organization and states, “I look forward to utilizing my experience and skillset in ways that best benefit our campus and the surrounding community.”
