November Client of the Month for Outpatient Therapy Clinic ~ Howard Litz (USMC Veteran, 1966-68, Vietnam)

How did you hear about our clinic?
I heard about the clinic through word of mouth. My cousin worked at The Brothers of Mercy in the past and strongly recommended it for therapy.

What made you choose Brothers of Mercy for therapy?
I was not satisfied with other outpatient therapy clinics as I felt I did not make good progress so I thought I would try something different. I like Brothers of Mercy because of the atmosphere (one-on-one treatment). I told my wife after my first evaluation that I liked it here, and it was much better than previous experiences. I felt comfortable and like my problems would be addressed right from the beginning.

Have you ever needed therapy services in the past? If yes, how has your experience been different at this clinic?
Yes, other places put you in more of a “group therapy” session as opposed to one-on-one care. Therapists were seeing 3-4 patients at a time and did not provide the attention I needed. I did not make good progress and my needs were not always attended to. I quit prematurely because I did not see the value in coming.

What advice would you give to someone who is unsure about starting a therapy program?
Give The Brothers of Mercy a chance to help you. My quality of life has improved since coming to therapy.

In a few words, how would you sum up your overall impression of the clinic’s atmosphere, the quality of therapy services you have received and the expertise of the staff?
I feel the therapists work with you and really care about you getting better. I bring up a problem and that’s what my therapist concentrates on. It does not feel like you have to come for therapy indefinitely like some other types of treatment. They have goals to get you back on your feet so you can continue with your life.
