Effective March 1, 2024, The Brothers of Mercy will be contracted with United Health Care (UHC) to provide care at the Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center for all people with UHC insurance,
This partnership also enables residents with United Healthcare Insurance in Assisted Living & Memory Care at Sacred Heart and independent living at Montabaur Heights and Trier Woods to stay on campus for enhanced levels of care when needed.
The Brothers of Mercy continues to be a contracted provider with all major insurance plans, including Highmark/Blue Cross, Independent Health, Univera and Aetna.
Effective Jan. 1, 2024, The Brothers of Mercy is a contracted provider with all 4 Western New York Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). People with Medicare insurance are enrolled thru their Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) in an ACO to improve the quality and efficiency of care. The Brothers of Mercy is the only Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Western New York contracted with all 4 ACOs.
People with Medicare insurance enrolled in an ACO do not need to stay in the hospital for 3 days or more when short term rehab is needed for their recovery. Reducing the number of days in the hospital greatly decreases complications and improves recovery by providing the appropriate level of care.
Since Sept. 1, 2023, The Brothers of Mercy has been the sole rehab facility contracted with the University Neurosurgery Group and the Atlas Ambulatory Surgery Center. Patients requiring rehabilitation for their post-surgery recovery are able to be admitted to The Brothers of Mercy inpatient rehab center directly from the Surgery Center avoiding a hospital admission and initiating physical and occupational therapy the same day.
