Meet the Outpatient Therapy Clinic Client of the Month ~ Ken O’Neill

How did you hear about our clinic?
Ashlie, the administrator of Montabaur Heights independent living community, told us about the outpatient clinic on Campus prior to us moving here from Syracuse.

What made you choose Brothers of Mercy for therapy?
My parents and aunt already lived here on campus and my brother’s brother-in-law also works here. I had a three-bedroom townhouse with 24 steps which made me consider the move.

Have you needed therapy services in the past? If yes, how has your experience been different at this clinic?
Yes and it has been very different, in a good way! The therapists truly care about getting you where you want to go with realistic goals. Others were just concerned with what to do that day. I didn’t feel as if I was treated as a whole person. I’ve witnessed interactions here and it has been night and day from other places. The same goes for Montabaur Heights, they’re concerned about you. I’m very happy to be here.

What advice would you give to someone who is unsure about starting a therapy program?
The benefits are unbelievable. I could never have done this on my own.

How would you sum up your overall impression of the clinic’s atmosphere, the quality of therapy services you have received and the expertise of the staff?
The staff is terrific in teaching what needs to be done. It’s nice to work with the same people each time.
