Insurance & Coverage
The Brothers of Mercy is a contracted provider with Medicare and most major insurance plans, including Highmark/Blue Cross, Independent Health, Univera, Aetna, and United Healthcare.
We also participate with leading Western New York Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), including:
- Agilon / Buffalo Medical Group
- Honest / Catholic Medical Partners
- Honest / Primary Care IPA
For individuals with Medicare who are enrolled in an ACO through their Primary Care Physician, a three-day hospital stay is not required before admission for short-term rehabilitation. This allows patients to transition more quickly to the appropriate level of care, reducing complications and supporting a faster recovery.
Special Needs Plans (SNPs)
We are a participating provider in the following programs:
- Independent Health ISNP and CSNP – for members in assisted living, nursing homes, or in the community with specific diagnosis-related care needs
- United Healthcare ISNP / Optum – for United Healthcare members residing in a skilled nursing facility
Post-Surgical Rehabilitation
The Brothers of Mercy is the exclusive rehabilitation provider for the University Neurosurgery Group and Atlas Ambulatory Surgery Center. Patients who require rehabilitation following surgery can be admitted directly to our inpatient rehab center – bypassing a hospital stay and beginning physical and occupational therapy the same day.
